Feedburner is a news feed management provider. It is probably the most popular tool that bloggers use to manage their RSS feeds.

For more information check out their website at www.feedburner.com

You may have noticed that I added the BlogRush widget to my sidebar over there on the left side. BlogRush laucnhed not to long ago and is a great way to drive traffic to your website. BlogRush syndicates your entries over other blogs with similar content. As you earn syndication points your posts get displayed more often.

They recently also just announced BlogRush flavors which are different color skins you can use to match the colors of your blog.

Go to http://www.google.com/analytics and create your account. Take the tracking code given to you and paste that code into the footer section of your blog before the tag. Make sure you go back to your analytics account and check the status of the tracking.

Google analytics is great because its free and easy to use. You can track page views, traffic sources, which keywords are driving traffic to your site, integrate it with Adwords and much more. If you are new to Google Analytics it may take you some time to learn how to use all its features but as you keep using it, you’ll become more familiar with its features.

As this blog hopefully starts to get more and more traffic, I will start to explain how to use these benefits to your benefit.

DealDotCom is another deal a day site similar to Woot.com. They offer 35% commission of every sale from your referral. In addition, if you refer another affiliate, you make 15% from your second tier. DealDotCom is set to launch on Tuesday 9/18/07.

Affiliate marketing is going to be one of my focuses for this blog. I’ve seen them amount to become a majority of the money bloggers make from their blogs.

There are many ways out there to start monetizing your blog. I am first going to start to try and make some money with this blog by adding Google Adsense. I originally chose this Wordpress theme because it was designed to easily place Google Adsense ads all around your blog.

How does Google pay you?

Google Adsense scans the page it is put on and tries to display ads that are relevant to the content on it. When somebody visits your site and they click on one of the links you get paid. Most of the time the amount you get paid will be a few cents but some keywords can be worth more. I’ll have a list of those keywords that pay out more in a later post.

You can also make money by referring your viewers to signup for various other programs and sites.

When will I get paid?

Google will pay you month following the month that you reach $100 in earnings.

If you do not already have a Google Adsense account you can help me out by signing up by clicking on the link below.

1. Setting up your blog.
I’ve found the best and easiest way to get started is by setting up a Wordpress Blog. It’s free, easy and there are a lot of cool plugins that people have built for it. If you are not sure about how to setup your wordpress blog, I will write a post about how to set it up in a later post.

2.Think about the content that you will be blogging about. For me, I will be writing about my shot at trying to make money on the internet.

3. Once you have your blog all setup and ready, next step is to pick or design your theme. Depending on the content of your blog you may want to pick a theme that goes with your content. I personally did not want to take the time to customize a theme so I went to http://www.wpthemesfree.com/ to download this free theme.

Another great place for free themes is: http://themes.wordpress.net/

4. Writing your first post.
Depending on your first post, you might not want to jump right away into the topic of your blog. Introduce yourself to your readers and let them know what they should be expecting to see in your posts.

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog. After reading all these blogs about how people are making so much money on the internet I’ve decided to try this out for myself.

A little background on myself…

I have very little experience in this. Besides reading other blogs about SEO, Affiliate Marketing, etc… I have no actual hands on experience trying to put these things to work.

What do I hope to accomplish with this blog?

Honestly, I’m not looking to be making thousands of dollars. As the title of my blog says, No More Ramen For Dinner. I’m just hoping to take the advice of the bloggers that inspired me to try this and make a few extra dollars here and there so I can go out for a nice dinner. I’m also hoping to inspire others to try this as well and hopefully I this blog can help in it’s readers as others have helped me.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you come back soon =)
